Remove Command
The botbox remove command lets you safely delete a cog (feature module) from your project.
Usage
sh
botbox removeYou’ll be prompted to select a cog to remove from your project.
What Happens?
- The selected cog’s Python file is deleted from
src/cogs/ - The cog is removed from your
botbox.confconfiguration - No manual file editing required
Example
Suppose you want to remove a cog called music:
sh
botbox removeSelect music from the list.
BotBox will handle the rest.
Headless Usage
Pass the cog name and -y, --yes to skip both the TUI and the confirmation prompt.
sh
botbox remove Greeter --yes⚠️ WARNING
--yes deletes the cog file immediately with no confirmation. Removing a cog that is not in your project fails with an error rather than silently doing nothing. When to Use
- You want to clean up unused features
- You need to refactor or replace a cog
